Overview

Golf Solitaire keeps only the sharpest part of solitaire: can the top card of any column connect to the waste by one rank up or down? The W04 page uses a lean tableau and immediate feedback so the round feels like a route-finding drill. You are not building foundations or managing suits. You are preserving bridges, choosing which column top to spend, and deciding when the stock must rescue a broken chain. That simplicity makes every mistake obvious. A careless pickup can strand a whole row, while one patient bridge can clear half the board.

Controls

Click a tableau card that is one rank above or below the waste card. If no card connects, press D or tap the deal button to flip a new waste card from stock. Keyboard players use Left and Right to scan columns and Space or Enter to choose the highlighted card; mobile players use the same flow through the bottom controls. Reset starts a new endless practice run. Because Golf has no drag requirement, the most reliable input is a clear single tap after checking adjacent ranks.

Scoring and Progress

Scores reward long waste chains, cleared columns, and low stock use. Each successful pickup is worth something, but the chain multiplier is what separates a casual clear from a strong run. Dealing from stock is a necessary escape, not a scoring plan. Local best storage tracks how well you maintain chain continuity over several layouts. Ratings rise when your score shows that you opened columns without burning through the deck. The scoring pressure teaches a practical lesson: the best move is often the one that keeps two future ranks alive.

Strategy Tips

Before taking a legal card, scan for duplicate ranks on the board. If two cards can connect to the current waste, take the one that exposes a new top card or preserves a rare bridge.

Mobile Play

keep your tapping finger low and let your eyes scan the row tops first. The bottom controls help when a small card sits near the edge or beneath the HUD. Since Golf is fast, it is easy to overtap after a successful chain; wait for the waste card to update before choosing again. Landscape can make the row tops easier to compare, while portrait gives the buttons more comfortable spacing.
