drag a shot arc through a moving hoop while managing misses
Basket Toss uses a free ball with horizontal and vertical velocity, a moving rim, gravity, and a downward crossing test. The shot begins from a changing launch point, so the same release does not solve every possession. A basket is registered only when the ball passes between the rim edges from above instead of merely touching a decorative target.
Use Left and Right to change aim and the action button or Space to release the next ball. Holding a direction before release changes horizontal force while the vertical impulse stays readable. Once airborne, the ball follows its trajectory without steering. Reset clears score and misses but preserves the browser best.
A made basket scores for distance, adds an air-ball bonus when the rim is untouched, and extends the streak. A miss increments the miss counter; three misses reset the streak but never stop play. The hoop then shifts and a new ball appears, creating an endless sequence of distinct launch geometry.
Project where the moving rim will be when the descending ball reaches hoop height. A shallow shot travels farther but arrives quickly; a high arc allows more hoop movement and punishes excessive side force. Use the visible trail and previous landing point to make one small correction rather than reversing aim completely.
Touch controls are separated from the canvas and support deliberate one-step aim changes. Debug play alternates imperfect aim with successful corrections so the scene never freezes. Runtime text exposes ball coordinates and velocity, hoop position and direction, misses, streak, score, and lives, proving that projectile timing drives results.
