How to Play

Cycle the runner through cyan, pink, and gold before it crosses each matching gate.

Game Guide

Overview

Color Dash is an endless one-tap reflex runner based on rapid color classification. A square travels along a neon lane while cyan, pink, or gold gates approach. Match the square to each gate when their positions cross. Every tap advances through the fixed three-color cycle, so a target may need one or two deliberate taps. Read the order and closing distance before contact.

Controls

Press Space, Enter, or Switch Color to cycle cyan, pink, and gold. The lane starts on page load, and the player glow and label show the current color. Reset returns to cyan, zero score, and normal speed while preserving the local best. Keyboard and touch use the same timing rule.

Scoring and Progress

A correct gate awards a base value plus a growing combo bonus. Each consecutive match raises the combo and gradually increases lane speed, making later decisions arrive closer together. A color mismatch removes a small amount of score, resets the combo, and eases the speed, but it never opens a permanent game-over screen. The next gates continue immediately, keeping the session endless and useful for reaction practice. The best score updates in local storage whenever the current run exceeds it, while ratings move from Rookie through Color Sprinter to Prism Master at higher totals.

Strategy Tips

Read at least two gates ahead. If the next gate is one step away in the cycle, a single early tap leaves time to verify the result. If it is two steps away, use two clean taps rather than frantic input near the crossing point. Avoid switching immediately after a successful gate until you have identified the following color, because the same visual rhythm can require a different number of taps. As speed grows, focus on the gate order and the player's label instead of staring at the contact line. A missed match is recoverable, so rebuild accuracy before chasing the lost combo.

Mobile Play

On mobile, the canvas fills the dynamic viewport and the control remains at least forty-four pixels high without covering gates. Landscape uses the same full-screen layout. Debug mode reads real gate colors and exercises spawning, speed, scoring, and collisions. render_game_to_text reports player color, gates, score, combo, best, speed, and autoplay for runtime verification.
