Hold the station by placing turrets beside branching rail lines as pressure events change the timetable.
Rail Defense turns tower defense into a timetable problem. Trains do not simply march down one road; they split across rails, arrive in uneven groups, and punish empty coverage near the station. The first minute is intentionally gentle, giving you enough steel to place a few turrets and understand where the branches meet. After that, pressure events can alter the rhythm, from express rushes to armored engines that survive several volleys.
Click a tower pad beside the rail to build, or use the arrow buttons to choose a pad and OK to place a turret. Press U or the upgrade button when a key turret needs more range and damage. Your job is to cover junctions rather than the entrance, because a single junction turret can hit multiple tracks before trains scatter.
Score comes from destroyed trains, preserved station health, and how long you survive once the random curve starts biting. The seed is stable in debug mode, but normal runs roll different pressure timings. Hardcore can arrive anywhere in the late window, and by 10:30 it is forced on. When it hits, trains become faster, tougher, and more likely to arrive across multiple rails.
The best layout starts cheap and central. Build enough to survive the first minute, then upgrade the turret that sees two branches. Do not spend every bit of steel before the next pressure event; a sudden armored convoy needs a fast upgrade. If a route is leaking, add coverage at the merge point instead of chasing the far end of the rail.
On mobile, use the pad selector when fingers cover tight junctions. Watch the next event countdown and the hardcore banner. The psychological trick is deliberate: the opening feels calm, then the timetable stops being polite. In this version, the events to respect most are express rush, armored train, multi-track wave. If one of them is less than half a minute away, delay cosmetic expansion and keep enough resource for one decisive build or upgrade.
