How to Play

Build three-gem clusters and upgrade the brightest stones.

W03 merge and number games: Merge Gems uses jewel workshop and three-stone upgrade rule so it plays differently from the other merge variants in this batch.

Game Guide

Overview

Merge Gems is stricter than the fruit board because a legal upgrade needs three matching stones. That turns every pair into a promise rather than an immediate move. The puzzle is about preserving half-built trios, arranging refill space around them, and choosing the jewel that should become your main vault. Strong runs feel like polishing a display case: each stone needs room, light, and the right neighbor.

Controls

Select a connected group of three or more equal gems. The board uses four-way contact, so diagonal gems that look close are not always part of the same set. Move the cursor with arrow keys if a cluster is narrow, then confirm with Space or Enter. Tapping is fine for big groups, but for a two-plus-one setup near an edge, cursor control avoids accidental selection.

Scoring and Progress

A larger trio pays more because it upgrades a jewel and frees several cells at once. The rating improves when score and top gem grow together. Do not judge a move only by its immediate points: a four-gem merge that drops the upgraded stone away from your prepared pair can be worse than a simple trio that keeps the next upgrade aligned.

Strategy Tips

Use pairs as anchors. Place two matching gems near the center, then let refills search for the third. If two unfinished pairs compete, protect the one with more empty cells around it. Avoid clearing the last low gem of a color unless that color is blocking a stronger jewel lane. The safest late-game move is often the one that rebuilds a trio factory.

Mobile Play

On mobile, gems are small and glossy, so tap after the highlight settles. The screen buttons are useful for picking exact groups inside a crowded row. Keep the board still, avoid swipe habits, and check whether a gem belongs to a legal three-stone group before confirming. A short pause saves more runs than a rushed upgrade.
