grid crossing among moving road traffic and safe nests

Game Guide

Overview

Frogger Hop begins on the lower bank of a nine-lane crossing. Move one square at a time through traffic, then continue toward the upper nests. Cars travel in alternating directions and at unequal speeds, so the puzzle is about finding a moving corridor rather than sprinting straight ahead. Reaching a nest banks a large award and returns the frog to the lower bank for another route.

Controls

Each arrow press commits one discrete hop. Keyboard players use all four arrows; phone players use the matching large directional buttons. A sideways hop can wait behind a vehicle or align the frog with a future opening. Moving backward is legal and often safer than forcing the next lane. Reset restores lives, nests, and score while leaving the browser best intact.

Scoring and Progress

A safe nest gives the main bonus, while repeated crossings raise the long-run score. Contact with a car costs one life and places the frog back at the starting row, but it never opens a game-over screen. The status display tracks remaining lives. Ratings reward sustained navigation and distinguish genuine successful routes from motion that merely stays near the bank.

Strategy Tips

Read two lanes together before entering the first one. A gap that looks wide may close when the next row moves the opposite way. Use the grid to compare vehicle speed, pause in a safe row, and step sideways when the vertical route becomes blocked. Favor open space behind a car because that space grows as the vehicle moves away.

Mobile Play

Portrait and landscape layouts keep the four directional targets above the viewport edge. Debug play makes imperfect hops, collides occasionally, and eventually reaches new rows so the canvas remains informative. The text snapshot names the frog coordinates, moving cars, nest count, score, and lives, allowing runtime checks to prove grid crossing rather than generic animation.
