digging a destructible grid for gems before oxygen runs out
Dig Quest opens a nine-column underground grid beneath a narrow surface entrance. Each movement breaks into the next soil cell and consumes oxygen. Certain patterned cells contain bright minerals that add value when entered. The miner can descend for richer routes or climb toward safer territory; depleted air returns the expedition to the entrance instead of presenting a terminal screen.
Use all four arrows or their touch equivalents to excavate one cell per action. Horizontal movement explores a depth band, while vertical movement commits oxygen to a deeper or shallower route. The action button is not needed for digging because movement itself changes the terrain. Reset fills the current mine again and clears collected gems, lives, and score while retaining the best.
Mineral cells award a distinct collection bonus and ordinary soil gives no automatic points. Oxygen declines slowly over time and also drops with each excavation, making route length a real cost. Running out removes one life, refills the tank, and returns the miner near the surface. The status panel shows air percentage, while the live state records gem count and depth.
Scan the visible cell pattern before choosing a shaft. Link nearby minerals into a route that still leaves enough oxygen for a return or forced refill. Avoid alternating between two empty cells, because movement spends resources without opening new value. When air becomes low, favor upward steps and treat a distant gem as a target for the next expedition rather than this one.
Large four-way controls make exact cell choices possible without covering the mine. Debug movement explores, backtracks, collects patterned gems, and occasionally exhausts oxygen so previews show the actual resource cycle. The textual snapshot includes miner coordinates, oxygen, gems, score, lives, and level, allowing tests to distinguish destructible-grid navigation from a continuous runner.
