How to Play

Use every clue to balance zeroes and ones while preventing triples and duplicate lines; the shipped board has exactly one checked solution.

W06 unique-solution gate: Binary Puzzle has a dedicated binary model and a two-solution cutoff.

Game Guide

Overview

Binary Puzzle fills a six-by-six board with zeroes and ones under three coupled rules. Every row and column contains exactly three of each symbol, no horizontal or vertical run may contain three equal symbols, and no two completed rows or columns may be identical. Given bits seed forced deductions. A propagation-plus-search counter stops at two solutions, and only a uniquely determined starting board is shipped.

Controls

Select an empty square and press OK to rotate blank, zero, and one. Arrow keys or the five mobile controls move the gold cursor; Reset returns only the original given bits. Fixed clues use a distinct background and ignore edit attempts. Because the legal alphabet has just two values, the short cycle supports quick touch play without a separate keypad or hidden gesture.

Scoring and Progress

Progress measures agreement with the certified binary matrix. Completing a balanced line without a triple earns more than placing an isolated bit, and the final bonus requires all row and column uniqueness tests to pass. Contradictions stay editable instead of causing a game-over screen. Random alternation therefore gives no reliable score advantage, while a clean solve saves its best result in this browser.

Strategy Tips

Look first for pairs: two adjacent zeroes force a one on either open side, and matching symbols separated by one gap force the opposite symbol between them. Next count each line; once three zeroes appear, every remaining cell is one. Compare nearly complete rows before copying a pattern, because the uniqueness rule often flips the last undecided pair. Repeat the same reasoning vertically after every horizontal placement.

Mobile Play

Large arrow and OK targets keep the six-column grid controllable on phones, including landscape devices with a short height. A tap selects before it changes a cell, reducing accidental marks near the HUD. Debug play alternates visible deductions and resets after the unique grid is reached. render_game_to_text reports balance counts, triples, duplicate-line warnings, givens, cursor, board symbols, progress, and the capped solution count.
